Be prepared for every encounter

The thermostat creeping above 110 degrees

after months of beautiful weather reminds us to rethink our routines. Storing bottles of water in the car along with a cooler for the unexpected grocery trip, helps us be ready for the unexpected situations that can occur. However, we also need to prepare for the unexpected encounters that can happen spiritually.

Last Sunday, I asked three questions that every Christian should be comfortable answering; Who is Jesus? What does it mean to follow him? And how should I live? Our answer to the first will inform our answers to the second and third question. It's good to have ready answers to these questions because the world is looking for those answers, especially when they come from the heart.

Today, we need to be able to share our faith in many situations. We won't always have the luxury to share the gospel for a few hours over coffee. Sometimes we will only have few seconds, so when we speak knowing what to say makes it all the easier. I pray that each of you would have multiple opportunities this week to share the gospel, and I look forward to hearing your stories.
